BOX OFFICE MANAGER (Listed August 2019)

Position Summary: 
GALA Theatre Box Office Manager is a part-time position that requires day, evening and weekend shifts during performances. The Box Office remains open until the conclusion of the intermission. The position reports to the Audience Engagement Manager. This position provides customer service, cash handling, and ticketing services in our state-of-the-art theater. 

The position provides quality front line service to customers, selling tickets using both manual and computerized systems, cash handling, telephone and internet bookings, maintaining information and display material at the front of house and in the box office area. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Process phone and walk-up ticket orders, including single ticket sales, subscriptions, group orders, and ticket exchanges.
• Print will-call tickets. 
• Follow proper cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions.
• Understand and relate purchasing policies to customers.
• Monitor and process all ticket orders on phone and email and coordinate with manager to complete all requests by sponsors and special guests.
• Maintain quality database entry practices when completing regular database maintenance projects.
• Prepare appropriate sales reports and deposits at conclusion of box office hours, reconciling any open issues, prepare an update customer database to recognize all patrons and communicating any specific challenges to the appropriate individual(s).  
• Learn the administration and back-end management of the Box Office ticketing system Vendini to process all sales in an efficient manner.  
• Evaluate processes for improving box office procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures according to customer service principles monitor supplies for box offices.

Personal Characteristics:
The ideal candidate will be a creative problem-solver, thorough, diligent, detail-oriented, organized, mature, discreet, patient, provide courteous and efficient customer service, and remain calm under pressure.  Proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Candidate must be comfortable with a flexible work schedule that includes nights and weekends (when performances are running).  Working knowledge in PC-based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel) and internet proficiency is necessary. Candidates with experience in sales, retail and hospitality are encouraged to apply.
